Dear Rose
One suggestion for 'keeping your toilet always bright/lighted when it is =dark/sundown time' is to use a light-sensor-energy-saving 'nightlight' =which are easily available in tools or DIY shops. This nightlight will ='auto-turn-on' when it senses 'darkness', as its name suggests, even if =you/room-mate are not at home. This way, it saves energy and saves you =money(lower electricity bills).
Hope this helps.
Rgds
Eve.
