Flying Star Feng Shui FAQ
I have some questions related to the flying star report generated. Why are the favorable directions almost opposite those of Eight House. For example: Eight House:North is prosperity, South East is excellent, East is longevity and South is health. Flying Stars:North West very auspicious, West very auspicious, east misfortune sickness, south east fading prosperity.Which direction is best for me? Which bedroom should I use?
Let me go thru how we normally (FS Masters) evaluate a house.
1. Put aside the 8 house theory report. We will first focus on the Flying Star Theory report.
2. Get a layout plan of your house and subdivide it into 3 x 3 grid.
3. Next on the layout plan determin where the North / South compass orientation of the house is.
4. From the flying star report, jot down a short description of each area. E.g. Centre, Current Prosperity.
Do include any additional findings for the sector e.g. at North-East (Fading prosperity) but there is a mountain star.
If there is/are mountain star(s): Ask this question, is this location your bedroom or backdoor? (You can note down this finding to later plan some action to `activate' the mountain star. Do remember that the mountain star is activated `behind' i.e. a wall by placing an object with mass e.g. a solid stone, a solid crystal or a soild metal paper weight.
If there is/are water star: The idea is to have `clear space' in that area. Some houses have a water star at the front main entrance door. To activate the water star, leave the front of the house clear. uncluttered.
5. After you have jotted down the remarks for each direction, you will find a pattern of where the mountain star or if there is also a water star.
Do note where is the " Very Auspicious " locations are or where the Education, Romance fall.. if it is in a child's room, it is good for his education. Note down where the Sickness area is.
What you have done is thus a real time map of your house.
Between the flying star or the 8 house theory, the flying star takes over the precidence. And the key to the flying star is to ACTIVATE the areas with e.g. the mountain star to bring additional luck. Mountain star must be activated.
6. Normally, the next thing we do is to look at the element of the house. For example if your house is a WEST house, the element is Metal.
This information is available also on the Flying Star report. The direction e.g. North on the report will show that the house is a Water element. For South, the house is considered of a Fire element.
To understand more about elements, the url is: ../fs/neutral.htm
7. (This step is not compulsory) After you know the element, and under the breadwinner's pillar of destiny report, will show a person's real element.
For instance, just the other day, I did a FS audit, the house has its main entrance door facing West. Thus the house is a metal house.
His pillar of destiny shows that he is a weak Water. The recommendation was that he should enhance his element with either water or metal element.
Since the house is of a metal house, then metal supports his weak Water element and the house is thus sited for him as the `metal' house strengthens his water element.
8. If you skip para 7, then, next is to use the 8 house theory to further analyse where is the most favourable location especially to place your bed.
Maybe I relate how, many go about using the `reverse process' some may not be lucky to do this but this is another way of looking at the use of the 8 house theory and then later the use of the flying star theory:-
Basically, if one is very familiar with Feng shui before he choses his house, he would have actually:
a. Find a house that is suitable for him by First using the 8 house theory. Here, he examines a house and find the Best house for him e.g. the main door is his `Excellent' location and try to find a house where his bedroom is at one of his other 3 good areas e.g. Health, prosperity or longevity. Also look at his real element from his pillars of destiny to see if his element clash with or if the house element enhances it. For example, if your true element is weak Water and the house element assuming that the house is South, Fire, Fire is said to destroy Water and if you are still staying at this house, you can use neutralising elements against the fire element and decorate your house to enhance your Water element. (This is not a lose lose but a win win situation and this is how, we try to balance the elements of a home).
b. Then use the Flying star report to look at the time dimension as explained earlier.
Is there a program that calculates and analyses The Flying Star Theory?
For the first time in the Internet, you get to generate a template used by Feng Shui Masters to evalute a house based on the Flying Star Theory that is accurate, takes the chore of calculations and analysis of a house.
Why develop a software to calculate and analyse The Flying Star Theory?
Unlike the Eight House Theory where you simply check which house template is suitable for you, print-out the template and superimpose it on a layout plan.
While the Flying Star Theory calculation and analysis are tedious and also takes the boredom of manual calculation plus a good program would certainly improve productivity and accuracy. Now, it will also benefit anyone wanting to analyse many houses before they purchase it as the calculation is done on-line for various directions of main door entrances.
Who developed this software and how long it took to develop it?
This software was developed jointly by Robert and Cecil Lee. Countless hours were spent to bring you the most accurate program available. This is the first in the Internet! A Mandarin translated similar program will be available at a later date.
How accurate is the software?
We have carefully checked through the source code and confirmed the accuracy through numerous previous cases done manually. The report is as authentic as it can be and 100% accurate.

What I need in order to generate a Flying Star Report?
|
1. You need to know the period home was built.
For a twenty year assessment, you need to know the PERIOD the building was constructed. For example, if a building was built/constructed and completed between the years 1984 to 2003, it is in the age of 7. Therefore when the software ask for the period Between 1984 to 2003, don't worry whether the building is being built, constructed or completed so long as this activity falls between 1984 to 2003 simply select this field.
Note: If there was a major renovation carried out on the house e.g. removal of the roof, tearing down of some parts of the house, additions/enlarging of rooms then you should use the date of completion of the renovation insead of the year the building was completed. Ignore minor renovations such as re-doing the floor tiles, repainting of the house and upgrading the toilets etc. as it does not affect the date of `birth' of the building.
In most instances, if your house is relatively new and built between the year 1984 to 2003 any renovation done during this period is still considered built within this period.

2. Determine the direction of the main entrance door.
You first need to stand in the `center' of your house and as accurate as possible determine the compass degree of your house.
The Flying Star theory uses 24 compass directions with 15 degree increments:-

Select ONLY one compass direction that closely match the main door entrance from the table below:-
For example if the compass reading for the main entrance door is between 7.5 degrees to 22.4 degrees then in the software program when asked to select the main entrance door direction, please select 15 degrees.

Either 0 degrees or 15 degrees or 30 degrees or 45 degrees or 60 degrees or 75 degrees or 90 degrees or 105 degrees or 120 degrees or 135 degrees or 150 degrees or 165 degrees or 180 degrees or 195 degrees or 210 degrees or 225 degrees or 240 degrees or 255 degrees or 270 degrees or 285 degrees or 300 degrees or 315 degrees or 330 degrees or 345 degrees. Notice that each direction is in 15 degree increments.
Personal Information of the Owner or Breadwinner.
For the Full Report, the Date of Birth and Gender of the Owner or Breadwinner is essential for the calculation of the Eight House Theory which will provide a greater insight into the suitability of the house to the Owner.
How do I determine which door is my main entrance?
Under Feng Shui assessment, the main entrance door is the door you commonly use to enter the house. For example, you have a main entrance door at the East. But you frequently use your garage door at the South. In this case, you should consider SOUTH as your main entrance door instead.

Why did the software generate a template with a North to South direction instead of South as in a traditional Flying Star template?
In the traditional Flying Star model, calculations were made with SOUTH on the top and NORTH at the bottom of the template. We anticipated that for most of us, it is so much easier to use a template if it faces a North to South direction similiar to an ordinary compass. Rest assured that all calculations are the same!
